American Heart Association
The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Founded by six cardiologists in 1924, our organization now includes more than 22.5 million volunteers and supporters. We fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies, and provide critical tools and information to save and improve lives. Our nationwide organization includes 156 local offices and more than 3,000 employees. We moved our national headquarters from New York to Dallas in 1975 to be more centrally located. The American Stroke Association was created as a division in 1997 to bring together the organization’s stroke-related activities.
PGA National Golf Club
Beautifully groomed fairways and fast greens have inspired championship play at PGA National since its opening in 1981. Decades of dramatic PGA Senior Championships, the dynamic Ryder Cup, and years of exciting PGA Honda Classic challenges have made PGA National the premier host of many of golf's most memorable moments and famous players.

The Small Print
Pace of Play/Reports to the Tee
Every player’s golf experience is equally important to us, and a major factor in the enjoyment of a round of golf is the amount of time it takes to play. To ensure that every golfer enjoys their round, we ask that you inform each one of your participants that our target time for eighteen holes is four hours. Our Player Assistants are trained to assist you in any way they can, however, they will relocate players on the course as necessary.
Please report to the tee at least ten minutes prior to their scheduled starting time, and once on the course, we ask that they play ready golf, and focus only on the group ahead of them. With this in mind, we are confident that all players will have a wonderful time.
Golf Course Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco Regulation
The Florida State Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco regulates the sale and service of all alcoholic beverages. PGA National Resort & Spa is responsible for the administration of those regulations. It is a policy, therefore, that an authorized employee of PGA National Resort & Spa must dispense all on course alcoholic beverages.” If one or more persons in a group chooses to bring their own alcohol products onto to PGA National golf venues, the entire group will be considered in violation of the alcohol regulations. This policy is extended to any and all donated alcoholic products that are brought to PGA from a company, charity, foundation or person (s). Group must be party to an agreement wherein PGA staff is hired to distribute the alcoholic products donated by an outside entity or person. Pricing for distribution and staff is available upon request.
RAIN does not constitute cancellation of a golf event unless the course officially closes. The Director of Golf and/or the Tournament Golf Professional are the only people authorized to officially close any golf course.
Acceptable attire: Collared Shirt, Long Pants or walking shorts.
Unacceptable attire: T-shirt, Tank Top, Athletic Shorts, Cut-offs or Jeans.
Metal spikes are not allowed at the PGA National Resort & Spa. Golf Shoes may be re-spiked at an additional charge.
Golf Scramble Rules
Four Person Scramble Format
A scramble means that all team members tee off on each hole and then decide which tee shot they like the best and mark the spot with a tee or ball marker.
The other team members pick up their balls and place them within one club length (no closer to the hole) of the marked spot. Each team member hits their next shot from the chosen spot.
This procedure is followed on every shot for the remainder of the hole, including putts. The ball should be marked on the putting green.
Putts need to be placed within 3 inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole). The first ball to go in the hole is counted for the team score.
You may lift, clean and place your ball within one club length on the selected shot; however, you may not move your ball out of a hazard (including bunkers), out of the rough, from the fairway or rough to the apron or from the apron to the green.
Men tee off from the white tees and women from the gold tees.
The Tournament will be scored using the “Peoria” method of scoring. Your team’s score on six secret holes will determine your handicap for the tournament. (See Below)
Please turn scorecards in to the Tournament Director. Prizes will be given at the end of the tournament.
Please rake all marks made in sand bunkers. Please leave the rakes in the bunkers.
Leave the putting green as soon as you have holed out.
Do not play until the players in front of you are out of range.
Please observe all local course rules.
Enjoy the day!
Closest to the Pin
If your tee shot is on the green and closest to the Pin/Hole, write your name on the marker card and place the marker in the ground on the spot where your ball came to rest. Once the marker has been placed in the ground, it should stay there until someone else hits a closer shot. Use the flagstick as a measuring rod if it is a close call. Then, that person should repeat the procedure of writing their name on the card below the other name(s) and place the marker at the spot.
If your drive is in the fairway and the longest, write your name on the marker card and place the marker in the ground on the spot where your ball lays. Once the marker has been placed in the ground, it should stay there until someone else makes a longer drive. Then, that person should repeat the procedure of writing their name on the card below the other name(s) and place the marker at the spot.
